You can usually see it happening in real time: the conversation that turns into the same argument, the wall that goes up right when someone gets close, or the voice in your head that won’t let you enjoy anything you’ve actually earned. But seeing it hasn’t been enough to change it.
I work with teens/young adults, adults, and couples. Whoever’s in the room, the work I do with my clients usually comes back to the same throughline: how past experiences shape the way you connect, communicate, respond to conflict, and let people close or keep them at a distance.
For some clients, that shows up as anxiety, perfectionism, or a self-critical voice that won’t ease up no matter what you accomplish. For others, it’s a relationship pattern that keeps repeating, or a family history more complicated than most therapy bios account for: adoption, fostering, child protection involvement, or family violence. My own background in child welfare and gender based violence work is part of why that complexity doesn’t throw me. I also have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, and with parents navigating a child’s diagnosis or a big life change.
I draw on attachment theory and narrative therapy, with practical tools from ACT, CBT, and DBT. I use the Gottman Method with couples and my DDP training with families working through attachment ruptures, and I provide therapy in English, French, and Spanish. My personality is a bigger part of how I work than a bio can really capture. I’m down to earth and curious, and I’m comfortable offering a direct observation or a gentle challenge, not just reflecting things back.
You may be a good fit to work with me if...
- You keep ending up in the same relationship or dating pattern, with different people filling the same role, and you're ready to understand where it started.
- Anxiety or a low mood has been running in the background for a while, and managing around it isn't cutting it anymore.
- Your inner critic is loud no matter what you accomplish, and you're tired of performing instead of resting.
- You're rebuilding a relationship with a partner, a parent, or a friend after betrayal or a hard history, and you want to work through it, not just manage around it.
- Your family doesn't look the way you pictured it. Co-parenting, a blended family, adoption, fostering, or child protection involvement is part of your story, and you want a therapist who doesn't need it explained from scratch.
- Something happened, to you or in your family growing up, that you've never fully worked through, whether that's a specific event, ongoing conflict at home, or family violence.
- You're neurodivergent, or think you might be, and you're tired of being treated like something to fix instead of understood.
- You're 2SLGBTQIA+ and want care that doesn't require you to explain the basics first.
- You're a teen or young adult trying to figure out who you are, not just manage a symptom list.
