You’re Getting Through the Days, But It’s Feeling Harder Than It Used To
Life in Oakville can look put together from the outside. You may be working, caring for others, managing responsibilities, and keeping things running. People might see you as capable or dependable.
Inside, it can feel different. You might feel tense most of the time, easily overwhelmed, or stuck in your head. Rest doesn’t feel restful. Your thoughts don’t slow down. You may notice yourself snapping, shutting down, or feeling disconnected from who you used to be.
Many women we work with are used to pushing past these signs. They tell themselves to be grateful, stay busy, or try harder. Over time, this can turn into burnout, overthinking, people-pleasing, or a quiet sense that something needs to change.
Therapy at LIV is a space to stop pushing and start listening to what’s actually going on beneath the surface.

This is a space to focus on you, understand your patterns, and rebuild trust in your own needs and feelings. We meet you where you’re at and help you build a plan that makes sense for your life right now.

How We Help
Therapy at LIV goes beyond talking things through and hoping time will fix them.
We help you understand why certain patterns formed and why they keep repeating, even when you’re self-aware. Together, we focus on creating change that actually shows up in your daily life.
In practice, this often looks like:
Understanding Your Patterns
Together with your therapist, you’ll start building awareness and understanding of the patterns that keep you stuck – whether it’s overthinking, people-pleasing, or ignoring your own needs until you feel drained.
Building New Tools
Therapy gives you practical strategies you can use in daily life, from calming spirals of worry to setting boundaries with more confidence.
Creating Lasting Change
Real healing goes deeper than surface fixes. We’ll work to shift the cycles that keep pulling you back, helping you create steadier, more sustainable ways of living.
We move at a pace that respects your limits and supports real progress, not just quick fixes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy in Oakville
Is online therapy really as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for most concerns. The key is finding a therapist who feels like the right fit. Many of our clients tell us they find online therapy easier to stick with, since it removes commute time and scheduling stress.
What if I’m not tech-savvy?
You don’t need to be! Once you book a session, you’ll get a secure link to click – it opens right in your browser. Most clients say it feels no different than joining a Zoom call.
Will my sessions be private and confidential?
Absolutely. We use a secure, encrypted video platform that meets Canadian privacy standards. No one else has access to your sessions, and you can join from any private space where you feel comfortable.
Do I need to live in Oakville to access therapy?
No. Our therapists provide virtual sessions in Oakville and nearby areas like Burlington, Mississauga, Milton, Halton Hills and beyond.
As long as you live in Ontario and have access to Wi-Fi, you can access therapy with us.
Is therapy covered by OHIP?
Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP, however most extended health plans in Ontario cover Registered Psychotherapists. We recommend checking your plan details before starting to ensure you are covered for psychotherapy specifically, as some plans only cover social workers or psychologists. After each session, you’ll receive a receipt you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
What if I'm not sure if therapy will help?
That’s totally okay! Our first step is always a free consultation – it gives you a chance to meet a therapist, ask questions, and see if it feels like a good fit before committing.
