You know you’re thoughtful and conscientious, so why does it feel like your own mind has turned against you?
You’ve tried reasoning with your thoughts. Seeking reassurance. Over-researching every ‘what if.’ But the relief never lasts. The doubts return, the cycle restarts, and your world slowly gets smaller.
Our goal is to help you shift from a life ruled by intrusive thoughts and compulsions to one grounded in clarity, connection, and the things that truly matter to you – with holistic support for your mind, body, and relationships.

The Hidden Weight of OCD
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) isn’t just about being “clean” or “organized.” It’s a cycle of intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and repetitive behaviors that can make you feel trapped in your own mind.
Even when you know your fears are unlikely, OCD demands certainty – and it feels like it won’t let go until you find it
Does this sound familiar?
- Your brain latches onto a “what if” and won’t let go until you try to figure it out.
- You spend hours researching online to quiet a worry. But it only leaves you with more questions.
- You put off decisions because you’re afraid of making the “wrong” choice.
- You ask a loved one the same question more than once, hoping for reassurance that this time will feel “enough.”
- You replay worst-case scenarios in your mind, trying to prepare for every possible outcome.
- You delay sending an email or message because you keep editing it to remove anything that could be misunderstood.
- You try to “figure out” why you had a certain thought, hoping you’ll feel reassured once you know.
- You mentally review past events to “check” if something bad happened without you realizing it.
If these experiences resonate, know this:
There’s nothing “crazy” or “broken” about you. Individuals with OCD (or OCD symptoms) have brains that respond to uncertainty with overprotection – and those patterns can be understood, worked with, and changed.

What OCD Therapy Can Help With
OCD is part of the family of anxiety disorders, and like many mental health struggles, it can affect every part of your life.
OCD therapy can address a wide range of OCD symptoms, themes and patterns, including:
- Intrusive thoughts (harm, sexual, religious, contamination, etc.)
- Relationship OCD (ROCD)
- Moral/Scrupulosity OCD
- Health OCD and excessive body/mind checking
- Mental compulsions, rumination, and perfectionistic over-planning
- Avoidance behaviors that shrink your life
- Fear of uncertainty and “what if” thinking
- Perinatal OCD and intrusive thoughts during pregnancy or postpartum
If OCD is making it hard to feel present and connected in your life, therapy can help you find calm, clarity, and confidence again.

How OCD Therapy Can Help
At LIV Mental Wellness, we offer trauma-informed care that goes beyond coping strategies. Together, we’ll understand your OCD cycle, loosen its grip, and rebuild your life around your values instead of your fears.
Our approach includes:
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
The gold-standard evidence based treatment for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). ERP helps individuals with OCD gradually face feared triggers without engaging in compulsions or repetitive behaviours. Over time, this reduces OCD symptoms, lowers anxiety, and improves quality of life. Learn more about ERP here.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Working compassionately with the anxious, perfectionist, or overprotective parts of you. Learn more about IFS here.
Nervous System & Neurobiology-Informed Care
Understanding how OCD patterns live in the body and brain, and learning regulation tools that support change.
Mindfulness & Self-Compassion Practices
Creating space from intrusive thoughts and meeting them with curiosity instead of judgment.
Psychodynamic Inquiry
Bringing insight to the unconscious beliefs and stories that keep obsessive compulsive tendencies in motion.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
We also integrate cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) techniques, including inference based approaches, to help you question OCD’s faulty logic and reduce compulsive cycles.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) helps build flexibility, relate differently to intrusive thoughts, and move toward a life guided by your values. Learn more about ACT here.
Online OCD therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you reclaim your time, attention, and sense of self from OCD’s control.

Why Work With
LIV Mental Wellness
If OCD has left you feeling drained, hypervigilant, or disconnected from your own life, we’re here to help. We understand how intrusive thoughts can hijack your attention, how compulsions can steal hours of your day, and how uncertainty can feel unbearable. You may have been told to “just stop overthinking” or “try not to worry” – advice that never touches the deeper patterns keeping you stuck.
At LIV Mental Wellness, we offer a different approach: one that acknowledges the complexity of OCD, works with your brain and body, and helps you reclaim the time, energy, and peace of mind that OCD has taken from you. Our work is collaborative, non-judgmental, and grounded in the belief that change is possible, even if OCD has been part of your life for years.

Frequently Asked Questions About OCD Therapy
How do I know if I have OCD or if I’m just an overthinker?
If your worries feel intrusive, repetitive, and lead to mental or physical rituals to ease anxiety – even temporarily – OCD may be part of the picture. We don’t provide formal diagnoses, but we can work with the symptoms and patterns that are impacting your life, whether or not you have an official diagnosis.
Do I need to be diagnosed with OCD to start therapy for it?
No. Many of our clients have not received a formal diagnosis, but recognize themselves in OCD-type cycles. You don’t need a diagnosis to start working on the thoughts, behaviors, and feelings that are causing distress. Our focus is on understanding your unique patterns and supporting your goals for change.
What’s the difference between anxiety and OCD?
Anxiety is a broad term for feelings of nervousness, worry, or unease, which can be situational or ongoing. OCD is a specific condition where anxiety is driven by intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) meant to relieve that anxiety. While they can overlap, OCD follows a distinct cycle that requires targeted treatment approaches like ERP.
Can therapy help with physical symptoms of OCD?
Yes. Many people with OCD experience tension, restlessness, or even nausea during intrusive thought spikes. We use body-based and neurobiological strategies to help you regulate physically as well as mentally.
Do I need to be in crisis to start therapy?
Not at all. OCD therapy is most effective when started early, before rituals become more entrenched.
What if I’m not sure this is the right fit?
That’s completely okay. We offer a complimentary, no-pressure meet & greet so you can ask questions and see if working with our team feels like the right fit for you. Feel free to schedule your free consultation at this link.
