Therapy in Burlington
You’re Not Failing. You’re Stuck in Patterns That No Longer Work.
You may be doing everything you’re “supposed” to do. Showing up. Staying organized. Taking care of others. From the outside, nothing looks wrong.
But inside, you might feel stuck in the same loops. Overthinking. Second-guessing yourself. Pushing past your limits. Shutting down when things feel like too much. You may understand why these patterns exist, but still feel unable to change them.
Many women we work with in Burlington aren’t falling apart. They’re functioning. What’s exhausting is that the ways they’ve been coping no longer work.
Therapy at LIV focuses on helping you understand what keeps these patterns in place and then work with you to shift them, slowly and practically, in ways that carry into real life.

Who We Help in Burlington
We work with women who are thoughtful, capable, self-aware, and often used to being the one others rely on.
Many of our Burlington clients are professionals, caregivers, parents, or helpers. They may feel anxious, worn down, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to shift on their own.
We focus on understanding what’s going on and helping you work with yourself, instead of feeling like you’re always fighting against yourself.

Why Choose LIV for Therapy in Burlington
- We specialize in stuck patterns, not just symptoms: That means we look at what keeps things repeating, not just how to manage them week to week.
- We focus on change that shows up outside the session: The goal isn’t to feel better for an hour, it’s to notice life actually feeling different between sessions.
- Our therapists just get it: You’ll work with someone who listens, understands, and doesn’t rush the process.
- Online therapy makes consistency easier: You can show up without rearranging your whole life, which makes it easier to keep going when things get busy.
We offer online therapy across Burlington and surrounding areas, supporting women in creating more steadiness and balance in their lives.

How We Help
Therapy at LIV goes beyond talking things through and hoping time will fix them.
We help you understand why certain patterns formed and why they keep repeating, even when you’re self-aware. Together, we focus on creating change that actually shows up in your daily life.
In practice, this often looks like:
Understanding Your Patterns
Together with your therapist, you’ll start building awareness and understanding of the patterns that keep you stuck – whether it’s overthinking, people-pleasing, or ignoring your own needs until you feel drained.
Building New Tools
Therapy gives you practical strategies you can use in daily life, from calming spirals of worry to setting boundaries with more confidence.
Creating Lasting Change
Real healing goes deeper than surface fixes. We’ll work to shift the cycles that keep pulling you back, helping you create steadier, more sustainable ways of living.
We move at a pace that respects your limits and supports real progress, not just quick fixes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy in Burlington
Is online therapy really as effective as in-person therapy?
Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions for most concerns. The key is finding a therapist who feels like the right fit. Many of our clients tell us they find online therapy easier to stick with, since it removes commute time and scheduling stress.
What if I’m not tech-savvy?
You don’t need to be! Once you book a session, you’ll get a secure link to click – it opens right in your browser. Most clients say it feels no different than joining a Zoom call.
Will my sessions be private and confidential?
Absolutely. We use a secure, encrypted video platform that meets Canadian privacy standards. No one else has access to your sessions, and you can join from any private space where you feel comfortable.
Do I need to live in Burlington to access therapy?
No. Our therapists provide virtual sessions in Burlington and nearby areas like Oakville, Mississauga, Milton, Halton Hills and beyond.
As long as you live in Ontario and have access to Wi-Fi, you can access therapy with us.
Is therapy covered by OHIP?
Psychotherapy is not covered by OHIP, however most extended health plans in Ontario cover Registered Psychotherapists. We recommend checking your plan details before starting to ensure you are covered for psychotherapy specifically, as some plans only cover social workers or psychologists. After each session, you’ll receive a receipt you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
What if I'm not sure if therapy will help?
That’s totally okay! Our first step is always a free consultation – it gives you a chance to meet a therapist, ask questions, and see if it feels like a good fit before committing.
