Find a Therapist
The right therapist changes everything.
The single biggest predictor of whether therapy actually works isn’t the method. It’s the fit between you and your therapist.
Answer a few questions and we’ll match you with the person on our team whose focus, training, and style fit what you’re actually dealing with.
LIV Mental Wellness | Therapy Online in Canada
Most people don't struggle to find a therapist. They struggle to find the right one.
You’ve probably been in this place before. You search online, read a few bios, try to figure out who might actually understand what you’re going through. The profiles blend together. Everyone sounds warm and compassionate. Nothing helps you tell the difference.
So you pick someone, show up, and hope it works. Sometimes it does. Often it doesn’t. And when it doesn’t, most people don’t try again for months.
Research consistently shows that the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is the strongest predictor of whether therapy leads to real change. When the fit is right, shifts happen. When it’s off, even good therapy stalls.
That’s why we don’t just list our therapists and hope you pick the right one. We ask real questions about what you’re dealing with and what matters to you. Then we match you with the person on our team whose training and style actually fit what you’re looking for.
How It Works
Finding the right therapist shouldn’t be the hardest part of getting help.
Here’s how we make it simple:
1. Share what's going on
Answer a few questions about what you’re working through and what matters to you in a therapist. You don’t need to have the language for it – that’s what the questions are for. Most people finish in under 3 minutes.
2. Get your match
Right after you finish the quiz, you’ll see the therapist on our team whose clinical focus, style, and approach are the strongest fit for what you described. You can read their full bio and see their availability before deciding.
3. Meet them first
Book a free 20-minute consultation with your match. It’s a conversation, not a commitment – a chance to ask questions, get a feel for their style, and decide if it’s the right fit. If it doesn’t feel right, we’ll help you find someone else on the team.
4. Start Therapy
When you’re ready, book your first full session directly with your therapist. Most people start within a week of their consultation. From there, the two of you build a plan that fits what you’re working on and actually leads to change.
What We Do Differently
A lot of therapy practices sound alike. Here’s what makes the experience different at LIV.
Therapists with real specializations
Every therapist at LIV has a specific clinical focus. We don't hire generalists. Different struggles need different expertise, and we've built our team around that.
Pattern-focused therapy
We work with the gap between knowing your patterns and actually changing them. Every therapist here is trained to help you shift what insight alone can't reach.
Structured, not passive
Sessions have direction. We're not here to listen for an hour and nod. We work toward specific shifts that show up in your relationships and your day-to-day.
Built for virtual
Virtual therapy removes the biggest barrier to consistency: the commute, the scheduling, the excuses. LIV is a fully virtual practice, designed from the ground up for online care.
Meet Our Team
We’re selective on purpose. Every therapist at LIV is chosen through a rigorous clinical vetting process, and the ones you meet here are the ones who made it through.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I don't click with my match?
That’s what the free consultation is for! You’ll meet your match for 20 minutes before committing to a full session. If it’s not the right fit, just let us know. We’ll recommend someone else on the team, no pressure and no awkwardness.
Do I need to know what's "wrong" before I start?
No. Many people reach out when something feels off but they can’t quite name it. Our matching quiz is designed to help you articulate what’s going on, and your therapist will help you make sense of the rest.
How much does therapy cost?
Individual sessions are $160 or $180 depending on the therapist. Most extended health plans cover Registered Psychotherapists and Canadian Certified Counsellors, and we provide receipts for reimbursement.
Is online therapy as effective as in-person?
Yes. Research consistently shows virtual therapy is as effective as in-person for the concerns we treat. Many clients find they’re actually more consistent with virtual sessions because there’s no commute and no scheduling gymnastics – and consistency is one of the biggest factors in whether therapy actually works.
