You may have spent a long time trying to understand why you feel the way you do. You’ve reflected, you’ve read, maybe you’ve been in therapy before. You can describe your patterns clearly. But understanding them hasn’t made them stop. The overthinking still runs in the background. Old experiences still show up in how you react, even when you know better. You’ve tried to think your way through it, and something still isn’t settling.
Many of the people I work with are self-aware and thoughtful. They’ve done real work on themselves already. But there’s a gap between what they understand and what has actually changed. Anxiety still hums underneath the surface. Past experiences still get activated in relationships, at work, or in the body. They’re functioning, but they’re tired of carrying the weight of patterns that insight alone hasn’t shifted.
I work with teens and adults, bringing a warm, flexible style that adapts to what each person needs. My approach is grounded in EMDR, a therapy that helps the brain reprocess memories and experiences your nervous system is still holding onto. EMDR is particularly effective when you’ve already done the reflecting and the understanding, but something remains stuck at a deeper level.
Alongside EMDR, I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. This means we work with both your thinking patterns and your nervous system, building practical skills while also addressing what’s been keeping things in place underneath.
Over time, many clients notice they feel less activated by things that used to take over. They respond differently in their relationships. The gap between what they know and how they actually feel starts to close. Change shows up between sessions, not just during them.
I use silence and pacing with intention. Sessions tend to move at a rhythm that lets things surface naturally rather than being rushed. Many clients find they go deeper than they expected, not because they’re pushed, but because there’s enough space to actually process. You don’t need to arrive with a plan or know exactly what to say. We’ll find it together.
